From original to finished image

  1. Select your JPG, PNG or WebP images. Choose an image from the preview list to inspect it.
  2. Choose a crop ratio, or drag on the image to draw a free selection. Move the selection or drag its bottom-right corner to resize it. Use the percentage fields for precise adjustments.
  3. Rotate left or right in 90° steps. Toggle horizontal or vertical flipping as needed, then check the output preview and dimensions.
  4. Choose the output format and quality. Process the images and download each result or the batch ZIP. Check the exported files before using them.

Crop or resize?

Cropping removes the edges and changes the composition. Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of the whole image. For a square profile image, crop to 1:1 first, then continue to Resize if you need an exact size such as 400 × 400 pixels.

Ratios and the selection box

Use Free for any shape, Original for the source aspect ratio, or a fixed ratio such as 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9. A fixed ratio fits centrally inside the selected area. Dragging a new selection switches to Free; select the fixed ratio again afterward if needed. The percentage fields refer to the original image. Arrow keys move a focused selection; Shift moves it in larger steps.

Rotation and flipping order

PicZip crops first, rotates second, and flips last along the output image axes. A 90° or 270° rotation swaps width and height. Horizontal flipping mirrors left and right; vertical flipping swaps top and bottom. The source view stays in its original orientation: use the result preview to judge the final appearance. Reset edits restores the full image with no rotation or flips.

Batch crops need a quick review

Every image receives the same relative selection, rotation and flips. Fixed ratios are fitted separately for each source image. For example, an uncropped 1200 × 800 image with a centered 1:1 crop becomes 800 × 800; an 800 × 1200 source also becomes 800 × 800. Different subjects may need different framing, so inspect each preview and split dissimilar images into separate batches.

Save settings and continue editing

Save the current settings as a named batch preset to reuse the crop percentages, ratio, rotation, flips and export options. Presets are stored in this browser; they do not contain your image files. After processing, use Continue processing to send the results to compression, resizing, conversion or stitching. If you change settings, process again before continuing.

Export choices and limits

Keep PNG or WebP when transparency matters; JPG uses a solid background. Quality settings affect JPG and WebP encoding. Cropping does not guarantee a smaller file because export format and quality also matter. Output is limited to 8192 pixels per side and 16 megapixels in total. If the output is too large, reduce the source dimensions with Resize and return to Crop.

Common questions

Can I only rotate or flip?

Yes. Leave cropping disabled and use the rotation or flip buttons.

Does a preset find the subject automatically?

No. It reuses the same relative crop area. Check the composition for each image.

Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle?

Currently rotation uses 90° steps. Straightening by a custom angle is not supported.

Are the originals overwritten?

No. Downloaded results are separate files. Keep the originals if you may want a different crop later.
