Add image padding and expand canvas →

Step by step

  1. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP images. Select each file in the preview to inspect the batch.
  2. Choose Borders in pixels and enter the four margins, Fixed canvas with width and height, or Aspect ratio. For canvas and ratio modes, choose the image position.
  3. Choose a background color or transparency. PNG and WebP support transparent padding; JPG uses the selected background color. Inspect the output dimensions.
  4. Run Add padding, check the results, then download individually or as a ZIP. Save a batch preset or send the results to another tool.

Borders, fixed canvas and ratios

Borders add exact pixels without resizing: a 200 × 100 image with left/right 20 and top/bottom 10 becomes 240 × 120. Ratio mode expands the canvas without cropping; 1:1 turns the same image into 200 × 200. Fixed canvas uses the dimensions you enter, shrinking an image only if needed to fit. Smaller images are never enlarged. Position controls the remaining space.

Batch settings and output limits

One preset stores margins, canvas settings, background and export naming in this browser; it does not store your input images. Apply the preset, then process again. Inputs accept JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 50 images, 50 MB and 40 MP each; output is limited to 8192 px per side and 16 MP. For a consistent product-image layout, use Fixed canvas; for original pixel dimensions plus a frame, use Borders.

Questions and answers

Why is there still a white background after choosing transparency?

The tool adds transparent padding but does not remove the background already inside the original image. JPG exports also cannot retain transparency.

Can I keep working after adding padding?

Yes. Send completed results directly to resizing, mosaic, watermarking or compression. If you change any image settings, run the tool again before transferring. Temporary transfers expire after 10 minutes.
